Your next three steps
- 01
Match the caliber
Confirm the weapon and magazine compatibility in the game before comparing rounds.
- 02
Compare exact cartridge names
Read the complete round name and its values. A shared caliber does not make every load equivalent.
- 03
Prepare the loadout
Check availability and price in your own game mode, then add the supplies you intend to bring.
A compact ammunition reference
The table below is a small, dated excerpt from the item reference bundled with Raid2Gether. It is useful for seeing how the comparison works, not for claiming an up-to-the-minute balance patch. The app contains the broader searchable catalog.
Read each column for what it represents: damage, penetration power and initial projectile speed. None of these fields alone predicts the outcome of every encounter. Keep the exact cartridge name beside the values when comparing alternatives.
| Cartridge | Damage | Penetration | Speed (m/s) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5.45x39mm PS gs (reference, opens in a new tab) | 56 | 28 | 890 |

Filter the question before choosing a round
A search that starts with the correct caliber is easier to act on than a single ranking across every cartridge in the game. Compare a small set of compatible rounds, check your available supply and decide how much ammunition the loadout needs.
Use item detail and market views for the purchase side of the decision. Reference statistics explain a cartridge; quote age and your game mode provide context for the price. Treat those as separate checks.
Avoid short-name and quantity mix-ups
An ammunition short name can omit the full caliber or use a compact label. Match the exact item rather than assuming that the text printed inside a small inventory slot is a unique identifier.
For loot reporting, a stack quantity is distinct from rounds loaded in a weapon or magazine. Raid2Gether focuses inventory analysis on visible found-in-raid items; a loaded-round counter should not become an extra stack in the report.
- Read complete cartridge names.
- Compare within the relevant caliber first.
- Check the reference date when balance changes matter.
- Keep loaded-round counters separate from loose stacks.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a live ammo tier list?
No. It is a dated reference excerpt and a guide to comparing cartridge properties. The app provides a broader searchable ammo table.
Can I compare ammunition in the Windows app?
Yes. Use the Ammo view to search cartridges and compare damage, penetration and initial speed.
Does the highest damage value always make a round the best choice?
The chart provides individual properties, not a universal ranking or a guaranteed encounter outcome. Compare the complete loadout context.
Where do the reference values come from?
The bundled item catalog uses tarkov.dev data. The excerpt below links each item to its reference page and shows the snapshot date.
